CANSSI is inviting Letters of Intent for the Collaborative Research Teams (CRT) program for projects beginning April 2021 and running through March 2024.
New for 2020: CANSSI has streamlined the LOI ingredients to focus on the scientific aspects of a proposed project and substantially reduce the burden of submitting a LOI.
The goal of the unique CRT program is to foster research and training interactions that span disciplines and institutions in order to tackle complex research problems involving the development of new fundamental statistical and inferential data science methodology and models and/or applying statistical and data science methods and models in an innovative way to a research problem in an NSERC-funded discipline. CRT funding enables researchers to tackle goal-based projects that require more resources than can be supported using individual NSERC grants.
The CRT proposal process has two parts: submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI) and, if invited, submission of a full proposal. LOI are due June 15, 2020 with evaluations to be completed by August 2020. CRT proposals are evaluated by an international Scientific Advisory Committee using external reviews. CANSSI and the Science Advisory Committee place a high priority on projects that involve innovative research and young faculty.
